Appointment of Françoise Bertrand as Proaction International’s Board of directors President

Montreal, November 19th, 2016 — Mr. Denis Lefebvre, President and Chief Executive Officer of Proaction International, is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Françoise Bertrand as Chair of the Board of Directors of Proaction International. Ms. Bertrand, who has just completed her term with the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Quebec), began her new role on November 1st.

Named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2013 in recognition of her contributions as a director and as a role model for women, Françoise Bertrand has more than forty years of experience at the helm of various important organizations. That same year, she was awarded an honorary doctorate from Concordia University in recognition of her career in its entirety, the Prix Femmes d’affaires du Québec (an organization that recognizes excellence among businesswomen in Quebec) in the category Gestionnaire-dirigeante d’OSBL (Officer-Director of a Non-Profit Organization), as well as being named Fellow by the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec (an association of Executive Officers). Five years ago, she was also awarded the highest distinction conferred by the Quebec government, the insignia of the Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Québec (Officer of the National Order of Quebec). Ms. Bertrand has also been recognized internationally. In 2001, she received, from the President of the French Republic, the medal of the Legion of Honour.

Throughout her career, Françoise Bertrand has sat on numerous executive boards. She is also a graduate of the Rotman School of Management Directors’ Education Program in Toronto. She has been a Member for 11 years of the Board of Québecor Inc., and was Chair of the Board from from 2011 to 2014, when she became Vice-President of the Board of Concordia University. She is currently a member of the Board of Osisko Gold Royalties, Ltd.

In the upcoming weeks, Proaction International plans to start projects in Seattle, Jefferson City, and Salt Lake City. There are also ongoing negotiations with about twenty American multinational corporations.
